Southern Hills Ministries

The following ministries help our church make and develop everyday disciples.

  • 1 Mile Mission Events

We host several events each year to bless our community, such as Block Parties, Eggstravaganza, Trunk or Treat, and Cookies With Santa.

  • Alcorta Readers

Church members read with Alcorta Elementary students each Wednesday afternoon for 30 minutes.

  • Audio/Visual

We have a team that operates cameras, optimizes sound, projects slides, and completes many other computer and tech-related tasks.

  • Bar Church

Our sister congregation, Bar Church, meets at Love & Care Ministries, and offers many ways to be involved.

  • Benevolence

Our church helps people in need in our church and community, in conjunction with other community organizations.

  • Brotherly Gloves

We have a group that provides simple repairs for church members.

This ministry helps children know and love Jesus through regular events such as Bible classes and Kids Worship.

This ministry seeks to support, befriend, and mentor college students.

  • Communion Servers

Church members help pass the communion elements during our Sunday worship services.

  • Compassion Garage

We have a group that helps our neighbors in need with car maintenance and simple repairs.

  • First Impressions/Communion

This team welcomes our guests with warmth and hospitality. This includes greeting people, serving coffee and donuts, and helping them find their way to the right classrooms or the worship center.

  • Foster Love Connection

We provide clothes and supplies for foster families.

  • Funeral Meals

Several teams cook and serve meals to families on the funeral day of their loved one.

  • Hospital/Homebound

This ministry visits fellow church members in the hospital or who are confined to their homes.

  • Impact Team

The Impact Team interacts with guests at our events, and follows up to help meet spiritual needs.

  • International Missions Team

This team oversees our global missions program, and ensures support for our missionaries and mission partners.

  • Jesus Parties

We host several events a year where we dance and interact with special needs adults from Abilene Adaptive Recreation.

  • Kids Eat Free

This ministry plans, cooks, and serves summer lunches to hand out to families in our community.

  • Life Groups

Church members can find connection through small groups of adults that meet at various times during the week.

  • Loaves of Love

We bake bread for our weekly communion.

  • Madison Fist Bump Crew

This crew greets and encourages students at Madison Middle School each Wednesday morning.

  • Men’s Ministry

Men plan and participate in activities to connect with other men in our church.

  • Safe Haven

This ministry helps secure our campus during Sunday and Wednesday meeting times.

  • Senior Adult Ministry

This ministry carries out activities that help our senior adults (55+) connect and share life.

  • Sew ‘N Sews

The Sew ‘N Sews create quilts, dresses, and other projects to bless others.

This ministry serves our middle school and high school students as they grow in their relationships with Jesus.

  • Widows & Widowers

We seek to bless those in our church family who have lost a spouse.

  • Women’s Ministry

Ladies plan and participate in activities to connect with other women in our church.

  • Worship Team

Members of the worship team use their voices to help lead the church in songs of praise or for special choruses or events.

  • Young Adult Ministry

We provide meaningful opportunities for our young adults to share life.
