Welcome to our church nursery!

We look forward to welcoming your child to our nursery. We understand that leaving your child in someone else’s care for the first time can be a big step, so we want to ensure that both you and your child feel comfortable, safe, and confident during this time. Below we have provided some important things that we feel you should know about our nursery!

safety & security

CHECK-IN

Please check in your child at a check-in station. At this point please provide contact information and allergies. Upon check-in, 2 stickers will be printed. We ask that the name tag be placed on your child’s back and please keep the parent tag in a safe spot as it will be used to pick your child up.

PICK-UP

Only individuals with the matching parent tag will be allowed to pick up your child. When arriving at the nursery please have your tag ready to be presented to a nursery worker. In the case the tag gets lost an ID will be asked to be shown to ensure the safety of your children. Please inform us in advance if someone else will be picking up your child.

SECURITY MEASURES

Our nursery is equipped with security cameras and the staff has all been background checked and trained in emergency procedures to ensure the safety of your children.

Comfort & care

If there is anything you feel the nursery workers should be aware of such as allergies, comfort items, feeding, medications, medical conditions, etc., please inform us so we can make sure your child is receiving the best care.

Throughout your child’s time in the nursery, diapers will be checked regularly. In the event that a diaper change is needed, a nursery volunteer will take care of it and it will be indicated by a “Changed with Care” sticker.

Class time

CLASS SCHEDULE

  • Drop off/playtime

  • Snack time at tables

  • Table time with songs and toys

  • Playtime/pick-up

The nursery is well stocked with a variety of age-appropriate toys to help engage your child during their time with us.

During your child’s time with us we will move to our singing and snack table where the children will be provided with a small snack as we sing bible songs together.

Snacks often rotate between baby puffs, veggie straws, and goldfish. If you have a snack in your bag that you would prefer them to have please inform the nursery workers upon drop off.

Communication

While we aim for every child to have a great time in our nursery, we recognize that some may find it challenging to adjust initially. Our caring staff will do everything possible to help your child settle in. If your child is having difficulty calming down after 10 minutes, we will send a text message to your phone. This message will ask whether you would prefer to come and comfort your child yourself or if you would like us to continue our efforts to soothe them.

Health

The health of your children and our workers is very important. After every class we sanitize the toys and make sure any toy that has entered a child’s mouth has been disinfected.

To maintain a safe environment for all, we kindly request that you refrain from bringing your child to the nursery if they are unwell. If your child has any of the following complaints or sicknesses, please do not bring them into the children’s ministry:

  • A fever of 99.0 or above

  • Runny Nose with thick and or green/yellow nasal discharge

  • Red, swollen, or crusty eyes

  • Questionable/Unexplained skin rash

  • Persistent or heavy cough accompanied by fatigue

  • Diarrhea or vomiting

  • Bleeding/wet diaper rash

  • Parasites (nits, lice, mites, ringworms, etc.)

  • If a child is being treated with an antibiotic, he/she must have been on medication for at least 24 hours before returning to the children’s ministries.

If volunteers feel that your child is sick, we will contact you to come and get them from their classroom.

We look forward to welcoming your child!

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out at any point!
